The Political Economy of Development (PED) program explores the development processes and policies from a political economy perspective. The program is interdisciplinary in that it applies economic theories to public policy choices in Somaliland.

Additionally, the program focuses on specific areas for further research in economic development that are relevant for Somaliland’s economic growth and development, such as, taxation/tax policies, trade, industrialization, investment, energy, etc.
